CIT (Counselor In-Training) Program
Purpose: The purpose of the American Inline CIT program mission is to develop communication and leadership skills and gain experience instructing skateboarding, rollerblading, mountain biking, BMX and Yoga/Fitness activities to kids ages. A minimum commitment of three weeks is required. Those three weeks do not have to be in a row, but they do have to be full, complete weeks, usually from 8 am to 1 pm, unless informed otherwise. To become a CIT, students must complete 4 hours of training on June 18, 2011 from 1 pm to 5 pm. The location of training is Marriott at Tyson's Corner.
Fee: There is a $50 fee for the CIT program, as of February 1, 2010. This fee covers official CIT Tee-shirts, appropriate training and manual. The $50 is payable within two weeks for acceptance into CIT program, by check or Credit Card. To pay by credit card, see below. Program Format: Responsible teens must make (three) - one week commitments and will be placed at camps on the basis of their availability, summer camp schedule needs and location preference. The focus of learning during the CIT program is building self-esteem and confidence in themselves and developing teaching techniques while working around a group of younger children. CIT duties includes assisting in setting up the camp area, assisting the counselor in instruction, demonstration, organizing the area and disassembly of the campsite. CITs also receive training in teaching techniques, working with children and leadership skills. The CIT program is three weeks. The weeks are arranged with the CIT. What we look for are individuals who possess the following requirements: Well groomed and clean cut appearance, good communication skills, good skating and athletic skills, must like working with kids, like to help others, gets along well with peers, responds well to direction, handles responsibility well and moves with sense of urgency. CIT are totally volunteer and non-paying positions. To pay by credit card see below:
